Defiance 2050 and the original are shutting down

Trion Worlds announced they are taking down Defiance and Defiance 2050, somewhat close to a decade after the first one's launch.

Defiance 2050's Mayhem and Mutiny Event has kicked off on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game's Ark Hunters will try to prevent the Arkfalls from invading the New Frontier.

Trion Worlds release most of their emplyoees

Trion Worlds has been acquired by Gamigo and the company has therefore released most of its employees. The exact number of released employees is not officially available at the moment but it is estimates suggest it to be around 87 per cent.

Defiance 2050 to get three new classes

Defiance 2050's producer Matt "Destromathe" Pettit has delivered a content road map for Defiance 2050, announcing three new classes over the next few months, new enemies, story missions, sieges, Arkfalls, end game bosses and dungeons.

Trion Worlds have laid off 15 employees in several different jobs - developers, community managers, you name it. The layoffs happened just eight days after the launch of their latest game, Defiance 2050, but the that may not be the reason.

Defiance 2050's launch doesn't look promising

Trion Worlds have released Defiance 2050, which turned out a remaster the old the Defiance with new skill trees and leveling system. Needless to say, people saw through it soon enough and Defiance 2050's release turned into a catastrophe.

Defiance 2050 is not really a sequel

Trion Worlds never really clarified what Defiance 2050 is, which put them in a position to claim they never advertised it as an actual sequel. That said, all of the content is actually from the original game, with updated graphics.

Defiance 2050 closed beta for PC is incoming

Trion Worlds have confirmed the previously announced closed beta weekend for their upcoming Defiance 2050. It will run from 20 to 22 April 2018 and will be PC exclusive. Console beta was also planned but had to be postponed to a later date.

Defiance 2050 Closed beta announced

Trion Worlds have formally announced the dates for the upcoming closed beta for their open world sci-fi shooter Defiance 2050. All three platforms will be able to participate in the beta on the weekend of 20 to 22 April 2018.

Assault class revealed for Defiance 2050

Trion Worlds have revealed a lot of new info about their upcoming title Defiance 2050. One of the things revealed is the Assault class and partial reveals of the game's other classes, all while streaming new gameplay footage.

Defiance sequel is in the works and should be out soon

Sequel to the 2013's Defiance is dubbed Defiance 2050 and is coming later this year. Trion Worlds have decided to go free-to-play from day one this time around, unlike the original game that was full price on release.
