Motion Twin announced that console players will get the Dead Cells update 21 soon, also known as the Malaise update, which was available to PC players last year.
Calling Malaise update last year's content comes with a caveat - it was released on December 21, 2020, so we're literally talking about the last big update for the year. However, console players still don't have it, more than a month later.
Motion Twin recently took to Twitter to announce that the update will not elude the console fans though. It is still coming, despite being partially themed for the now finished winter holidays.
According to the devs, the update is coming "in the next couple of weeks" so it's not going to be released in the first week of February 2021 but there is a possibility the week after that will bring along all the goodies console players have been waiting for.
Besides the Christmas costumes, players can look forward to katana, the new weapon everyone's inner samurai is begging for. Besides the regular slashing, the katana boasts a dash attack that can be activated by holding the attack button.
Furthermore, there is a new enemy - the Demolisher. This one shoots explosive crossbow bolts from a safe distance nad is a bit of a nuisance but let's hope that katana dash can help out.
The update is huge and you can check it all out in full on the Steam announcement page if you haven't already.
