CD Projekt Red are really turning up immersion to 11 with Cyberpunk 2077, as their freshly created Night City website gives you a realistic window into the fictional world.
We've heard the studio discuss the lessons learned from The Witcher franchise on more than one occasion, where they realised that side-quests are an incredibly important piece of the immersion puzzle, but they still somehow managed to surprise us with Night City's new website.
Even if you've watched the third episode of Night City Wire , there's still loads of information to process about Cyberpunk 2077's sprawling city. The website should take care of just about any question you have, albeit nothing will replace the actual interactive experience.
Nevertheless, we can't think of many games that did, or even could do this, but the massive scale of Night City and the complex intertwining of people, gangs and corporations in a cyberpunk world really warranted such a project.
CDPR even threw in ads for maximum believability, so you'll see offers for Arasaka home security, Arasaka's environment protection (yeah, that should be a laugh), energy drinks, food, live body count reports and even election candidates.
It's not just fluff, mind you, as the website lets you find out more about each of the city districts, like Watson, Heywood, Santo Domingo, Pacifica and others. Yes, there are more, all seemingly brought to you by Arasaka's generosity.
As you'd expect, CDPR added a ton of screenshots of Night City, and each one is a mouth-watering reminder that this is not a game you'll finish quickly and be done with it. Having probably spent days in GTA titles just driving around, yours truly can't wait to dip into Cyberpunk 2077's universe. Yeah, I know I'm not alone.
