You will be able to start pre-loading Cyberpunk 2077 on December 8, 2020, on PlayStation 4. The file size is exceeding 70 GB but you can expect it to be even higher with hefty day one patch.
One of the most anticipated games of all time, Cyberpunk 2077, is almost here. After more than five years of development and several delays, CD Projekt Red's RPG is finally hitting the shelves in less than two weeks.
Those who pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077 are probably wondering when exactly the game will be available for pre-load since the internet speeds are not quite the same in each country. Some players still have to download their games for dozens of hours and a pre-load option is always appreciated, even if you have a solid internet connection.
Luckily, Cyberpunk 2077 will support pre-load. On PlayStation 4, you will be able to start downloading the game two days before the actual release - on December 8, 2020.
That 72 GB download size may not look that overly large right now, but keep in mind that CD Projekt Red are working on a day one patch, which could add another 10 to 20 GB to the overall file size.
The devs are yet to officially reveal the size of the day one patch, so this is just speculation at the moment but we doubt the patch will be minor.
Anyway, two days should be more than enough to download the game and have everything up and ready just in time before Cyberpunk 2077 officially unlocks.
As for other platforms - PC and Xbox - we do not know when exactly the pre-load will go live but if we had to guess, we would say it will become available simultaneously, across all platforms.
