CD Projekt Red's upcoming action-RPG Cyberpunk 2077 could allow players to climb skyscrapers to "dizzying heights" in certain scenarios such as quests or side activities.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set for a major event tomorrow - June 25, 2020 - where CD Projekt Red will reveal new gameplay footage and a ton of new details about the game. Shortly after that, content creators and journalists will share their previews of Cyberpunk 2077 thanks to the early access to the game.
And while we wait to hear more about the game, there are a couple of new details that have surfaced over at Reddit. Thanks to the translation from user Moraez , we know that Cyberpunk 2077 could allow players to climb skyscrapers in some scenarios like quests and side activities.
The climbing could be similar to Mirrors Edge's mechanics but do not expect Spider-Man or King Kong-like abilities.
"Yes, V can climb up skyscrapers and we try to connect this with a special context, for example in a quest or side activity. But while climbing, you won’t look like King Kong or Spiderman, more like V. The [Mirror's Edge] comparison isn’t that bad and as V you will be able to get in dizzying heights," Senior Level Designer at CD Projekt Red Miles Tost teased in the interview.
Keep in mind that the original interview is from E3 2019 so it is possible that CD Projekt Red scrapped the idea during the development. Until we see it in action, nothing is for certain but hopefully, we'll get our first glimpse at skyscraper climbing tomorrow at Night City event.
