Crash Bandicoot's relinquishing of the PlayStation exclusive status was always going to make a splash but this Vicarious Activision's game is now really making a mockery out of UK charts, having come out on top for the eighth week running.

Granted, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy's success has a lot to do with the fact that few, if any, major releases came out in these weeks but we cannot disregard the fact that the game's simply very popular in the UK.

Interestingly enough, if Crash manages another week in the pole position, it will have matched Call of Duty: WWII's record from 2017, when the game made it nine wins on the trot. According to NPD numbers, CoD: WWII ended 2017 as the best selling game in the US, so Crash is definitely in good company, not least for Activision being in charge of both.

Grand Theft Auto V climbed up a single spot and now sits in second place, while the only new entry in top 10 was World of Warcraft: Battle of Azeroth, which only managed third place. Note however that WoW's new expansion came in first when it comes to individual sales but Crash's performance Xbox One and Nintendo Switch

Mario Kart 8: Deluxe remained in fourth place, even though individual sales put it just behind World of Warcraft: Battle of Azeroth, a no small feat. After five weeks in second place, Lego The Incredibles finally started losing ground. Still, it performed better than many analysts predicted and fifth place in the sixth week is still an admirable result, even more so considering the type of game we're talking about.

Overcooked 2 and We Happy Few dropped out of top 10, while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Madden NFL 19 returned.

As usual, bear in mind that the UK all-format chart only covers physical releases. The top 10 list looks like this:

  • Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • World of Warcraft: Battle of Azeroth
  • Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
  • Lego The Incredibles
  • God of War
  • Call of Duty: WWII
  • Super Mario Odyssey
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • Madden NFL 19
