Codemasters have finally managed to end Crash Bandicoot's lengthy run on top of UK's all-format chart, as F1 2018 drove all the way up to the summit, leaving Shenmue I & II in second and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy in third place.

It seems as if Codemasters have really shifted into overdrive ever since Onrush failed to meet the expectations. The whole ordeal and reorganisation inside the studio, so it's nice to see F1 2018 working out for them. Besides, even the name Codemasters in my mind brings a wave of racing nostalgia.

Speaking of nostalgia, Sega's "most requested re-release of all time" Shenmue I & II has had a great re-launch, coming in second. Beginning its career as a Sega Dreamcast exclusive, only to be ported to Xbox later, the game has drawn many a petition for Sega to relaunch it, this time on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Now I'm no Crash Bandicoot hater but on top has been enough for Vicarious Activision's remaster. I'm sure that the two were hoping for Crash to match Call of Duty: WWII's nine-week record from 2017 but alas - it was not to be.

Grand Theft Auto V dropped two places, which coincides with the arrival of two newcomers to the list, i.e. F1 2018 and Shenmue I & II, while Mario Kart 8 Deluxe dropped a single place and now sits fifth.

God of War's sixth place remains unchanged, while Lego The Incredibles is slowly dropping down the pecking order, this time coming in seventh. We guess the movie-induced nag factor is wearing off.

Call of Duty: WWII dropped one place to eighth while The Crew 2 shot up six places and returned to top 10 in ninth place. FIFA 18 shot up 19 places to position number 10.

As usual, words of advice before you make any drinking bets - we're talking about physical copies across all platforms, so they're more of an indicator of trends than definitive sales figures. The remainder of the top 10 chart looks like this:

  • F1 2018
  • Shenmue I & II
  • Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • God of War
  • LEGO The Incredibles
  • Call of Duty: WWIIThe Crew 2
  • FIFA 18
