Activision could release a remastered version of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 campaign according to credible Call of Duty leaker TheMW2Ghost. Apparently, the game will be a one-month exclusive for PlayStation.
Rumours about Call of Duty Modern Warfare trilogy remasters have surfaced sometime last year, suggesting that Activision are looking to release all three Modern Warfare games with fancy new visuals and other improvements.
Two games have already been released with Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered in 2016 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered launching in March last year. It's safe to expect that the third game is getting remastered too, and according to a very reliable Call of Duty leaker TheMW2Ghost, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 campaign remastered could launch later this year as a PlayStation exclusive for one month.
"Was told that MW3 Campaign remastered is definitely coming this year, and should be coming Q2 which is the original plan, one month exclusive to PlayStation," he tweeted. "So, it was originally set for Q2 of this year under a deal with PlayStation, but not sure if that’s still the case (date). Apparently, it’s definitely still coming at some point this year."
The PlayStation exclusive part is not surprising since Modern Warfare 2 Remastered was also a timed exclusive for Sony's platform.
As for the release date, we would say that the holiday season 2021 is perhaps the safest bet, especially after the rumours about troubled Call of Duty 2021 game development.
Until officially confirmed, though, take this with a dose of scepticism, just like any other leak or rumour.
