Borderlands 2's free DLC Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary has been leaked a while ago but it's time to sum up all the related leaks. For example, it could be good to know that the planned release date is on 9 June 2019.
Lilith the fiery badass from Borderlands series is getting a DLC that will heavily feature her as the new leader of Crimson Raiders following the events of Borderlands 2. The free DLC will serve as a bridge between Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3. Given that the article is about story content that is set after all the previous Borderlands games, expect some spoilers.
Onto the important things first though. Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary is set to launch on Sunday, 9 June 2019. Normally, this would be an odd time to release DLC since new releases don't tend to drop on Sundays but this one is possibly tied to Xbox E3 press release that happens on the same date, at 1:00 PM PDT / 10:00 PM CEST.
It is to be expected the launch will happen in a similar manner to Apex Legends where respawn were talking about the game on a live stream during which it became available.
The DLC name suggests Lilith inherited the role of Crimson Raiders' leader from Roland which has us worried for her well-being. Commanders of any Crimson outfit have a terrible track record of staying alive, regardless of whether it's Crimson Lance or Crimson Raiders.
General Knoxx demonstrated this first and his example was followed by just about every officer of the organisations, including Roland. Lilith is the first Siren to control the military unit but her powers may not be able to help her.
The trailer above suggests she lost her powers somehow and it could possibly have something to do with the Calypso twins who are seen in the background as Lilith staggers on the ground, with her Siren tattoos gone. This certainly doesn't look like something that would encourage life insurance companies to give her an offer.
