Hype Train Digital and Morteshka are enjoying quite a bit of success with Black Book, the humble but vast game that is selling like hotcakes.
Hype Train Digital are probably dealing with the hype of their own as players all over the world are buying Black Book in droves as it offers another look into Slavic folklore and a new adventure to be enjoyed. It's also quite the adventure, if we might add, as it scored pretty high in our own review .
As it turns out, it wasn't just our own staff that thoroughly enjoyed the game since it sold over 100,000 copies in just three weeks. Now, the number may look humble compared to the AAA monstrosities the industry spews out these days but keep in mind this is an indie title, created with a core team of just five people.
Furthermore, Black Book boasts an Overwhelmingly Positive score on Steam, even though it sometimes dips into Very Positive as the percentage of positive reviews seems to be moving back and forth between 94 and 95. Either way, it's a tremendous success for the devs and another win in the indie scene.
The sales happened across all the mainstream platforms - PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. In the case of PC, Black Book is sold across Steam, GOG and EGS so going the extra step to provide the option to buy the game on everyone's preferred platform seems to have worked great as well.
