Battlestate Games hosted their monthly TarkovTV podcast where they talked about the plans for the rest of the year, informed players what they have done since the last wipe, and announced one big update before the end of the year.
The topic in focus was the release of the Streets of Tarkov, the most ambitious Escape from Tarkov map to date. The first iteration of the map is scheduled to release before the end of the year, and even though it won't release in full, the size of the first iteration should match the size of existing larger maps.
As we haven't had a Streets video released for some time now, Nikita decided to share a lot of new screens from the upcoming map. The screenshots can be viewed in the gallery below.
The Streets of Tarkov map, as mentioned, will release in parts starting at the end of the year, and will be constantly expanded in the following months.
At first, the map will have up to 20 PMCs per map, with the end goal to have between 30-40 just PMCs players per raid, and an unknown number of Scav players.
The player count is bigger than on any existing map, and Nikita promises that the map will not be overcrowded, and the number of the target 40 PMCs is needed for the city to feel alive and not abandoned.
Each part of the map will feature many unique details, and most buildings should have playable interiors, so the map will feature both close-range and long-range combats.
The first iteration of the map will be included in patch 12.13, which will release later in the year, most probably in December.
