Battlefield 2042 has sold 4.23 million during its launch week according to Battlefield insider Tom Henderson.
Despite a rough launch, Battlefield 2042 has managed to sell pretty well according to the internal sale numbers data that was obtained by insider Tom Henderson . If the numbers are indeed true, Battlefield 2042 is one of the best selling Battlefield games of all time based on the launch week stats.
Battlefield franchise sales data from Tom Henderson:
- Battlefield 3 - 4.68M
- Battlefield 2042 - 4.23M
- Battlefield 1 - 3.46M
- Battlefield 4 - 2.59M
- Battlefield: Hardline - 1.48M
- Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - 1.39M
- Battlefield: Bad Company - 0.44M
Of course, you should most definitely take this with a grain of salt since EA have not disclosed the sale numbers for Battlefield 2042 just yet.
Henderson also claims that during Thanksgiving, Battlefield 2042 had 1.67M active users and 269,000 concurrent users across all platforms including PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
The player count on Steam dropped significantly since launch but as you can see from these new numbers, the situation is not half bad for EA. Battlefield 2042 still has a healthy players base and we must say, the game's sale numbers are surprisingly good.
It will be interesting to see if Battlefield 2042 manages to exceed EA's lifetime sale expectations. The previous title, Battlefield V has failed to do so, selling only 7.3 million, which is one million fewer than EA expected.
Battlefield 2042 certainly had a good start and it would not be surprising if it exceeds expectations in a couple of years.
