Respawn have shifted spinning of the Apex Legends yarn into overdrive these days, with their recently renamed Outlands Television Twitter feed reporting live on all sorts of things. The main star tonight, though, is the Season 4 trailer.
Apex Legends Season 4: Assimilation trailers launches in few hours, or to be clinically exact - on 30 January at 10am PST / 6pm GMT. You can watch it via the link above once it goes live, but it seems like Respawn have more in store than just the trailer.
Outlands Television's tweet from yesterday reads, "Tune in tomorrow at 10am PST as we bring you an exclusive OTV report with new information linking the recent break-ins at Hammond Robotics facilities and murder of James 'The Forge' McCormick with a 25-year unsolved cold case."
When it comes to hype-building via trailers, there aren't many better than Respawn as they tend to hide all sorts of useful information in plain sight. To be fair, the plain sight part has a tendency to whizz by, but we'll be keeping our eyes open for any nuggets that data miners might have missed.
After all, the latest Apex Legends a ton of new weapons, but only in name, which might easily be a ploy to get data miners off their track. Then again, it might just be laying the groundwork for Season 4: Assimilation or even beyond, as some of the guns on that list have since been officially confirmed by the dev.
We're really loving the direction Respawn's been taking with their lore-building. Their recent limited-time mode Dummie's Big Day made it painfully clear that Apex Legends is miles ahead of any other battle royale when it comes to character, and once the infatuation with the mode wore off - the lack of legend chatter made for an eerily bland experience.
Anyway, see you soon.
