In their latest push to deepen the Apex Legends lore, or if you want to get technical - expand on the Titanfall universe, Respawn posted some new details explaining Revenant's backstory, and maybe even teased some stuff we're yet to learn of.
As you probably know, James "The Forge" McCormick's promotional campaign for his inclusion in the Apex Legends arena came to an abrupt halt, thanks to Revenant doing stuff behind his back. Like, stabbing him from the back.
In the days leading up to the Apex Legends Season 4: Assimilation trailer, Respawn posted quite a few hints of Hammond Robotics' ongoing woes with a mysterious assailant. The trailer, however, didn't waste much time on explanations and skipped straight to the action, where Revenant wreaks havoc in the company's board room.
Well, sort of, because once you know the whole story, the part where he sees himself as a human in the glass qualifies as an explanation. This is exactly his beef with Hammond Robotics, who have been resurrecting him on the behalf of the Syndicate and making him forget over and over. Until he didn't.
The text exchange you see below is supposedly between Hammond Robotics and the Syndicate, and among other things reads, "Do you know how many simulacrums currently living in the Outlands have had psychotic breaks? One. This one. You knew the risks and this one crossed that line a hundred rezzes ago."
So, not only is he the best and one of the oldest killers, he's in a robotic body and is extremely angry. That explains his scene in the boardroom. We thought it might've been low blood sugar or something.
Those who still kept their eyes glued to the screen towards the end caught a glimpse of a little girl hunched over one of Revenant's victims, and the general consensus is that , one of the earlier data-mined characters.
