Nvidia and AMD have been raising GPU prices incessantly over the years, hoping that the customers would just acquiesce to the price hikes but according to some of the findings on Steam, this may not be the case.
Namely, the latest hardware survey results paint a grim picture for both companies - people are just not using the GPUs from the latest generation, regardless of whether it's team Green or Red.
The most used GPU from the latest gen is RTX 4060 for laptops and it is in 29th place overall.
One could make the argument that other GPUs had more time to sell and be integrated but it just doesn't fly in the face of data provided by Valve.
Among the top 10, there are GPUs from across three generations and none of them are the latest one. GTX 1650 even took the top spot as the most widespread graphics card on the platform.
RTX 30 series are the most numerous in the top 10, with five GPUs representing the generation while the GTX 10 series have four entries, including the aforementioned reigning champion.
RTX 20 series has only one participant in the top 10, with RTX 2060 sitting in the fifth spot.
AMD GPUs are not nearly as popular but it was easy to guess the most popular GPU for team Red - RX 580.
It is followed by RX 570 and RX 5700 XT, which comes as no surprise either as they are all very good bang for your buck, unlike the latest generation which is doing its best to price gouge the gamers.
