Frostpunk has been a shining example of good developer support ever since 11 bit studios launched the game. They have released a road map months ago, detailing the plans for 2018 and they included a story driven DLC, The Fall of Winterhome.
The Fall of Winterhome is another step taken towards finishing 11 bit studios' road map that is littered with free DLC. This new scenario will chronologically take place before the events of the main game as it will unfold in the ruined town of Winterhome that the players may have come across during their freezing quest for survival.
As previously stated, it will be a story driven scenario as players will be able to relive and figure out what happened to Winterhome before they found it the first time around. The city used to be populated by scientists and engineers and is thought to be highly advanced for that reason, but players eventually find out something went wrong in A New Home scenario.
According to the official description, The Fall of Winterhome will offer new visuals, mechanics, buildings "and more". Repair Station is one of the mentioned buildings that will arrive with the DLC and due to Winterhome's nature, high concentration of automatons is to be expected.
For those unfamiliar, scenarios are short, well, scenarios that are the go-to content after players complete the main campaign. Some mechanics will be unavailable, making the already challenging game even more of a masochist's wet dream.
The Fall of Winterhome marks the third major update after Survivor Mode and Endurance, which is basically horde mode that never ends. There is one more thing to cross off the list for 2018 and that's photo mode.
11 bit Studios
While further plans have not been revealed, it does not mean they are not there as 11 bit studios have stated there is more content coming to Frostpunk in 2019. You can find the entire road map as well as more information about each free DLC pack in the link at the beginning of the article.
