"We survived the Great Storm but the path ahead is still marked with toil. A finding outside New London seems to be a blessing, but doesn’t every miracle come with a price? Lead the expedition to explore the uncharted parts of Frostland in Frostpunk: On The Edge", the description reads.
Frostpunk: The Last Autumn took players to the period prior to the base game, back when the giant generator tech was still a fledgeling one.
Frostpunk: On The Edge, however, brings you right back into the fold. It picks up after the events in the base game, as humanity tries to survive the cold.
After the storm exposes an army warehouse from the pre-evacuation times, a scouting party is sent from New London to set up an outpost and a steady chain of suplies.
As it often goes with Frostpunk, nothing is ever as easy as it sounds though. For starters, the region near the outpost has no animals to hunt, so you'll be depending on New London and their conditional kindness.
Thankfully, the weather is not as severe on the edge, which means you'll be able to survive without a generator. That said, Frostpunk: On The Edge will still put you in a position where you'll ask yourself - for how long?
Frostpunk: On The Edge launches for PC via Steam, GoG and Humble, and 11 Bit promise the following features:
- A gripping survival story set after events of the original game
- Circumstances will force players to explore and adapt to the frozen wilderness
- A brand-new map with unique structures
- New methods to divide or unite your people
- New mechanics to build economic and diplomatic relations
