Since the beginning of gaming consoles, debates have been present over whether it’s better to play games on PC or consoles, as well as the ongoing rivalry between Xbox and PlayStation. In recent years, PlayStation has imposed itself as the leading gaming console, especially in Europe, where it seems it enjoys greater popularity compared to Microsoft’s Xbox; to say nothing of Asia, the place of PlayStation's origin.
PlayStation’s popularity has largely been driven by the outstanding exclusives released for the platform. Especially in its earlier years, the console boasted games that were simply too exceptional for serious gamers to ignore. By keeping these titles exclusive to their system, Sony encouraged many players to choose PlayStation over other gaming options.
Fortunately for gamers, the landscape has been shifting in recent years, with fewer games remaining entirely exclusive to a single platform. Nearly all previously PlayStation-exclusive titles have received PC versions, and Xbox has been releasing its exclusives on PC for years now.
What’s particularly exciting is the growing trend of games that were once exclusive to a single console. Many of these are now being released on competing platforms—a development that deserves praise. Additionally, many games from developers owned by the two console giants, Sony and Microsoft, are already slated for release on rival consoles in 2025.
That said, some games will remain exclusive to a single platform. Today, we’ll present a list of all the titles set to release exclusively for PlayStation consoles in 2025 and beyond, along with many that will also launch on PC. So without further ado, let's jump into it.

1. Ballad of Antara
- Genre: Action RPG
- Developer: Tipswork Studio
- Publisher: Infold
- Coming to: PlayStation 5 and PC
- Release Date: 2025
If you're a fan of a dark fantasy setting and Souls-likes, then Ballad of Antara is one to keep an eye on. The game's art style is heavily reminiscent of Elden Ring and while the game is not open-world like From Software's masterpiece, it promises intricate and "exploration-oriented" level design with challenging combat in true Souls-like fashion.
The developer Tipswork Studio also confirmed we'll get to choose from several playable characters called Emissaries with a whole bunch of unique skills and powers, so the gameplay itself should be very diverse, depending on the class we choose.
Ballad of Antara will be the PlayStation 5 console exclusive and it's also coming to PC. The game is expected to be released sometime during 2025 without a specific release date.
2. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
- Genre: Action-adventure
- Developer: Kojima Production
- Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
- Coming to: PlayStation 5
- Release Date: 2025
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is a sequel to Death Stranding, an action adventure from 2019 in which players travelled large distances across harsh terrains to deliver cargo needed to rebuild the United States after a cataclysmic event.
The characters, including Sam Porter Bridges, Fragile and Higgs, are set to make a return in the sequel, along with the addition of new faces Tomorrow and Rainy, played by Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna, respectively.

Interestingly, Hideo Kojima recently revealed that he rewrote the entire story for Death Stranding 2 after the COVID-19 outbreak. This suggests that we might see some plot elements connected to the 2019 pandemic in the game.
Since Kojima Production collaborates with Sony, this game will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, and it's coming in 2025.
3. Fairgame$
- Genre: Online shooter heist game
- Developer: Haven Studios
- Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
- Coming to: PlayStation 5 and PC
- Release Date: To be confirmed
If Payday and Watch Dogs ever got a child, it might look like Fairgame$. We intentionally drew comparisons between Fairgame$ and Watch Dogs because Fairgame$ marks the debut of Haven Studios, founded by Jade Raymond who previously worked on both Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed.
Given Jade Raymond's huge experience, Fairgame$ might be a very innovative and also very interesting competitive title with a modern Robin Hood concept where players steal from the rich.

In Fairgame$, you team up with other players to break into the exotic vaults and take the score. However, there is a twist that sets this game apart—not only that you must plan and execute to bypass the security, but you must compete against other teams for the score. It all looks intriguing on paper; how it will work in practice is a totally different story.
Since we know nothing about when the game might be coming, we can at least wish it might happen in 2025, but we won't get our hopes up too high. In any case, it is confirmed that once it is out, Fairgame$ will be available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
4. Ghost of Yōtei
- Genre: Action RPG
- Developer: Sucker Punch Productions
- Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
- Coming to: PlayStation 5
- Release Date: 2025
Ghost of Yōtei is an indirect sequel to the critically acclaimed action RPG Ghost of Tsushima from 2019, developed by Sony's studio, Sucker Punch. The series is taking a step in a different direction with a new protagonist and locations.
Ghost of Yōtei stays in Japan but moves from the island of Tsushima a bit to the north to the mountain of Yōtei. The new protagonist, Atsu, will take on the mantle of the Ghost in a story set 300 years after the first game.

Ghost of Yōtei should follow the example of its predecessor in terms of gameplay, so expect a big open world with various side activities and quests, engaging combat with various stances and skills to unlock.
5. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
- Genre: Action-adventure
- Developer: Naughty Dog
- Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
- Coming to: PlayStation 5
- Release Date: To be confirmed
During the Game Awards 2024 gala, Naughty Dog, the studio that gave us Uncharted and The Last of Us, finally announced their next big thing - Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet - an action-adventure with a sci-fi vibe, and a game we sadly know very little about.
From the trailer they showcased during the gala, we could see a couple of things. The graphics will probably be amazing, which is nothing unusual given the visual quality of the previous Naughty Dog games, and Adidas is making shoes even in the far future. Joke aside, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet might be a very interesting title to look forward to, but sadly, we have no information when it might be coming.
The best hope is at the end of 2025, but it is highly unlikely. However, we put this game on this list, hoping it might happen in 2025, but whatever happens, one thing is certain: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will be the PlayStation 5 exclusive through and through.
6. Marvel's Wolverine
- Genre: Action-adventure
- Developer: Insomniac Games
- Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
- Coming to: PlayStation 5
- Release Date: To be confirmed
Much like Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Marvel's Wolverine is a mystery too, with very little to show for—only one brief trailer and after that, total radio silence. What we all know, however, is the fact that Marvel's Wolverine is developed by Insomniac Games, the studio responsible for making the very successful Spider-Man trilogy.

From the only trailer published three years ago, we could see Logan inside a bar after what seems to be a huge brawl, sitting and enjoying a quiet time. One of the thugs is sneaking behind him to stab him with a knife, and then Logan pulls the iconic Wolverine blades, and that's pretty much it.
Since then, no mention of a release date or anything, but we give ourselves a right to hope that it will happen during 2025, and as was the case with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the game will probably be the PlayStation 5 exclusive.
7. Phantom Blade Zero
- Genre: Action RPG
- Developer: S-GAME
- Publisher: S-GAME
- Coming to: PlayStation 5 and PC
- Release Date: To be confirmed
Phantom Blade Zero is an action RPG with fast-paced, shinobi-style martial arts combat and parry mechanics, reminding us a lot of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The game combines a Chinese setting, Steampunk elements and a dark fantasy art style to create a very unique world and presentation.
The trailers do give the game a cinematic and dramatic look, mainly thanks to a camera that moves in an unusual way, but this is probably done for marketing purposes, and in the actual game, you can expect a traditional third-person perspective.
Phantom Blade Zero is confirmed for PlayStation 5 and PC. The game does not have a release date at the moment, but some reports suggest it could be coming in the fall of 2026, but for now, this remains purely speculative.
8. Sword of the Sea
- Genre: Atmospheric Adventure
- Developer: Giant Squid
- Publisher: Giant Squid
- Coming to: PlayStation 5 and PC
- Release Date: To be confirmed
The announcement trailer for Sword of the Sea was presented to us a year ago, and since then, we have been in total darkness regarding this beautiful and atmospheric adventure made by the creators of Abzu and Journey, Giant Squid.
Of course, when it comes to this developer, we anticipate nothing short of excellence in art style, and Sword of the Sea appears poised to deliver spectacularly in that regard. Sword of the Sea will be an adventure whose gameplay will be a mix of snowboarding and skateboarding mechanics, and our hero will do all this on their sword called Hoversword—quite original we must notice.
The game is announced for PlayStation 5 and PC, but sadly, without a specific release date. As with a lot of other games on this list, we hope it will come sooner rather than later.
9. The Midnight Walk
- Genre: Adventure
- Developer: MoonHood
- Publisher: Fast Travel Games
- Coming to: PlayStation 5, PS VR2 and PC
- Release Date: 2025
The Midnight Walk is an atmospheric horror adventure with clay-like graphics and a very strange plot that tells the story of The Burnt One, a strange being who is on the hunt to find a new purpose in his life after he decides to dig himself up from his grave. On his quest, he will meet Potboy, who will become his companion in this creepy and intriguing adventure.
The official PlayStation blog confirms that the game will be released in 2025, although without a specific release date. Apart from PlayStation 5, we will be able to play The Midnight Walk on PS VR2, along with the PC version released on Steam.
10. Where Winds Meet
- Genre: Action RPG
- Developer: Everstone Studios
- Publisher: NetEase
- Coming to: PlayStation 5 and PC
- Release Date: Fall 2025
The last game on our list is Where Winds Meet, an open-world action RPG set in Imperial China during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms era. In Where Winds Meet, you'll play as a young martial artist, the master of Wuxia combat mixed with various Kung Fu techniques.
Where Winds Meet developers highlight fast-paced combat with great emphasis on perfect dodges and precisely timed deflections, with the whole bunch of various weapons we will be using throughout the game.
When we pair all this with the promised vast open world and meaningful exploration, we might be in for a very intriguing action RPG experience. In any case, we won’t be able to check that until fall 2025, when Where Winds Meet is slated for arrival. Apart from PlayStation 5, the game will be available on PC as well.
