In Where Winds Meet, there are 12 weapons to collect and use, and every single one is specific in its own way. Here is how to get the Soulshade Umbrella, the weapon used for healing.

Where Winds Meet is a game with a wuxia combat style, which means many melee weapons will be at your disposal, because wuxia warriors are well known for turning anything they touch into a deadly weapon.

If you decide to explore the Martial Art tab inside the 'Develop' option, you'll notice that some weapons are greyed out, while the others are available for use. Even if you've already found some iterations of those weapons and own them in your bag, you won't be able to use them until you discover a special skill tied to that particular weapon.

If the Soulshade Umbrella weapon looks tempting to you, in this guide, we will show you how and where to find the skill tied to this weapon and how to unlock it and make it available in the game.

What kind of weapon is the Soulshade Umbrella

The Soulshade Umbrella is a support weapon, meaning it won't deal too much damage (do not worry, it will still be quite useful in combat); its main goal will be to heal you and your companions using its unique martial arts.

The Soulshade Umbrella can be used in combination with another, more deadly weapon, and once you get skilled enough to change weapons mid-combat (you can choose up to two weapons), this weapon can become extremely useful.

Where is the Soulshade Umbrella located?

To get this weapon, you must enter the second game's area, Kaifeng, meaning you'll have to complete the main story inside the Qinghe region. Once you make your way to Kaifeng, go to the location shown on the map below (we've already finished the quest, so there's no icon, but to trigger the quest, just go to this location).

Once you approach this location, the hero will automatically engage the Veil of Stillness ability (if you don't know how to get this ability, check out our guide). Now, your goal will be to enter the underground caves and steal the martial arts skill called Soulshade Umbrella.

How to get the skill?

Jump on the roof of the house inside this area and make your way to the balcony of the main house. If you want, you can collect two chests located inside the courtyard, but be careful; if the disciples spot you, you'll be sent back to the beginning of the quest or the hero's tomb once you reach one.

Enter the main building through the balcony and try to avoid the disciples that patrol around. The easiest way to do so is to engage Wind Sense and observe their fields of view; then you can either avoid them, but it is way easier if you simply kill them from behind (do not worry, bodies will disappear quickly after you kill them, so you won't need to worry about other disciples discovering their fallen comrades' dead bodies).

Once you reach the last room, you'll notice a guy with the umbrella doing the martial arts training; go over the roots on your right to reach the spot where the skill theft minigame can start. This skill theft is a bit more challenging than the previous ones, but the principle stays pretty much the same.

All you have to do is press the X/A button (PlayStation/Xbox controller) once the yellow circle appears, but you'll have to be quick because the circle disappears very quickly. Avoid pressing grey and red circles, and once the bar fills, the skill theft will be successful.

Once you successfully finish the skill theft, make your way out of the caves the same way you entered, or if you don't want to bother, simply let yourself get caught and choose to respawn at the beginning of the challenge. Now, you can choose the Soulshade Umbrella as your supportive weapon, which will make healing in combat way easier.
