Everstone Studio and NetEase have released a brand-new trailer revealing that the Where Winds Meet Imperial Palace Expansion is on the horizon, giving players their first look at the next chapter of the game’s wuxia setting.
The footage doesn’t show much, but it features epic martial arts battles, moody environments, and a few returning characters who will be joining the fray in the next chapter.
The announcement comes at a strong time for the title, which has grown gradually over the last year and quickly established a massive cross-platform audience. Imperial Palace Expansion should give Where Winds Meet another significant push forward with new combat challenges, environments, and high-level content.
Imperial Palace expansion confirmed for 2026
In the trailer, characters exchange quick attacks, dashing around and trading long, theatrical swordplay, showing just why the game’s combat system has become one of its most endearing features.
Beyond that, the studio has not shared an extensive list of features, but this announcement suggests that the Imperial Palace will be the next significant expansion for long-term players in need of new narrative progression and higher-tier challenges.
Where Winds Meet has experienced a major spike in popularity recently, crossing the nine million player mark inside of two weeks. That increased player count has created the opportunity for the studio to produce more regular updates.
Some of these include an additional explorable zone, several powerful bosses, a raid-like multiplayer activity, and a sword trial with high barriers of entry intended for advanced players. These features have all contributed to keeping the game’s momentum strong across PS5, PC, and mobile.
A promising year ahead for the Wuxia RPG
The Imperial Palace Expansion being announced for next year suggests that players will be receiving a continued influx of high-energy combat and narrative content built around the game’s wuxia fantasy.
Everstone Studio seems intent on iterating on the game at a rapid clip, and 2026 is looking to be one of the biggest years for Where Winds Meet yet.
