The Kaifeng region in Where Winds Meet brings its own set of collectibles, including different types of oddities and different places where those oddities can be exchanged for skills and upgrades.
There are five new oddity types in Kaifeng: Swallow's Rest, Moonbeam Toad, Midnight Nibbler, Thunderous Fluff, and Heartsoothe Twig, which can be very tricky to get, especially if you don't know how to tame the birds which carry this twig, since they are moving quite fast and can easily escape your attention.
If you don't know how to get the oddities from those birds, we have all the answers regarding this very topic in this guide, so without further ado, let's jump into it.
How to locate oddities inside the Kaifeng region
The same as was the case in the Qinghe region, all the oddities can be tracked on the minimap. To locate oddities, you'll have to move around, keeping your eye on the minimap, and once an oddity is close, a small oddity icon will appear on the edge of the minimap. Keep going in the oddity direction and you'll be able to pick it up.
Where to exchange oddities in Kaifeng
The NPC that will take your oddities and exchange them for Melodies of Peace is called Bai Ji, and you can find him right next to the first Wayfarer as soon as you reach Kaifeng. However, once you speak to him, he will freak out and escape from that location, which will set a side quest regarding Kaifeng oddities in motion.
You'll be able to find him at the most northwestern part of the Kaifeng map, where he will remain, and if you want to submit oddities and exchange them for rewards, you'll find him there (see the map below for reference).
How to collect Heartsoothe Twig
All remaining four oddities are quite easy to collect; reach their locations, maybe chase them for a bit, and that's pretty much it; however, Heartsoothe Twig is a different beast, and to catch it, you'll have to employ a bit of skill.
Once you locate the moving oddity (the one that constantly changes its location), you'll know it's the Heartsoothe Twig oddity. If you try to chase it, it will definitely be much faster than you, so the only remaining option is to shoot it down.
If you think this is the solution to this problem, you're partially right, because if you try to shoot it down using a bow and arrow, it will be very hard to hit it mid-flight. However, there is a solution, and it is to slow down time while aiming.
Do not worry; this ability is the first you'll get at the very beginning of the game, and it is pretty much unmissable. While aiming at your bow, press the L3 button (PlayStation controller), and the time will slow, allowing you to aim and shoot the bird. Once you hit it, it will drop the twig. Now, go to the location where the twig dropped; if you cannot find it, follow the oddity icon and pick it up.
