Mistveil Forest is an area located to the east of the city of Kaifeng, and if you try to enter it, the poison buildup will kick in. In this guide, we will show you how to enter this area and how to deal with this poisonous miasma.

The second big region in Where Winds Meet, an MMO action RPG from NetEase Games, is Kaifeng, a huge city which might probably be the most alive city you've ever seen in the world of video games. It's brimming with activities, so many NPCs that live their lives and do their usual stuff, and so many things to do that you can easily lose track of what to do next.

Around the city of Kaifeng are the usual activities and locations you can see mostly inside the first in-game area, Qinghe, like more open spaces and locations, such as small villages with dedicated side quests tied to them.

One such location that seems like a big mystery is located just to the east of Kaifeng, marked on the map with a lot of fog, and once you reach this area and try to enter, you'll begin to receive a poison buildup, and if you're not careful, you'll die in the process.

Where is Mistveil Forest located?

If you check your in-game map and look to the east of Kaifeng, you'll see a foggy area with the fog visible even on the map, containing two teleportation stones inside the fog and two stones surrounding it (see the map below). If you try to enter this area, the game will inform you that you're about to be poisoned by a venomous mist called Dawn-to-Dusk.

Staying for too long inside this mist can be lethal for you, so your natural reaction would probably be to get away from it as fast as possible.

How to enter the mist without being harmed?

To do this, you'll have to enter the mist and stay for as long as you lose consciousness. Once this happens, you'll be saved by an NPC, and after speaking with him, you'll have the opportunity to start an encounter which will bring you one step closer to solving this foggy mystery.

This NPC is called Zhai Xu, and he is a member of the Silver Needle sect who once worked on the solution for this fog problem, but they hit a brick wall with their investigation, so this part of the land is simply inaccessible to the people.

Now, the hero will take the problem into his own hands, and the first step to do so is to obtain three cure recipes. Two of those are located inside the very building you woke up in, but to obtain them, you'll have to be a little creative. If you try to take them, Zhai Xu will notice you and won't allow you; however, that won't stop you from obtaining them, right?

Above the door is a small chime that you can notice if you engage Wind Sense. Use Meridian Touch to hit the chime, and doing so will distract Zhai. While he is distracted, take two recipes, and now it's time to obtain the third one.

The game won't tell you where the last recipe is located; it will only give you a vague hint showcasing Aureate Pavilion as one of the objectives. If you inspect the area more thoroughly, you'll notice that the Aureate Pavilion is actually the outpost located to the north of Mistveil Forest.

Go there and clean the outpost, and after you do, check out the building to the right of the entrance. Inside the building, you'll locate the last cure recipe. Now, with all three recipes in possession, make your way back to Zhai Xu. He will make a pill for you that will protect you from the mist temporarily.

Follow the objective markers and finish the quest. Once you do, the mist will disappear, and you'll be able to explore the area as you please.
