Following the release of Patch 14.6, interest has shifted to upcoming changes in League of Legends, as FrankTheBoxMonster noted on Reddit. These insights from the PBE offer a glimpse into potential adjustments for champions like Sona, Skarner, and Nami, among others.
Based on the first look at this datamine, Riot Games apparently focused on balancing champions to prevent overpowered picks from dominating ranked play and to introduce more viable options into the champion pool. If this does turn out to be true, then the upcoming meta would be one of the smoothest ones ever.
Stay tuned as we delve into the details of this recent data mine to anticipate what's in store for the next League of Legends balance change update.
League of Legends PBE Datamine leaks
In terms of champions:
Diana
- Diana's Passive Moonsilver Blade tooltip was updated
This was more of a quality of life update for our beloved jungler Diana.
Karma
- Karma's Ultimate now offers more shields, going from 50/90/130/170 to 60/110/160/210
- Her ullt now shields secondary targets. They will now receive 100% of the extra shield value instead of 30% of the total shield value
Karma was severely gutted in the last patch as she was doing more damage instead of fulfilling her role as a support. So she received some buffs to allow her to be better supported. She can now offer stronger shields and more allies all at once.
Kog'Maw
- Kog'Maw's Ultimate Ooze now shows proper info in the tooltip
Kog'Maw has always been a dark horse in the ADC world, but he only received some quality of life changes.
Nami
- Nami's W Ebb and Flow's damage was lowered from 60/100/140/180/220 (+55% AP) to 60/95/130/165/200 (+50% AP)
- Its healing was increased from 55/75/95/115/135 (+25% AP) to 55/80/105/130/155 (+40% AP)
- Its cooldown was lowered from 10 seconds to 9 seconds
- Her E-Tidecaller's Blessing's damage per hit was lowered from 20/35/50/65/80 to 20/30/40/50/60
Nami received similar adjustments to Karma. She now heals more aggressively and more frequently. However, she will do much less damage moving forward.
Skarner
- Skarner's Q Shattered Earth/Upheaval's damage now scales with 70% base attack damage
- His W Seismic Basition's damage now scales with 80% ability power
Sona
- Sona's Passive and Q now deal more empowered attack damage, going from 140% to 150%
- Its total damage increased from 28–336 (+28% AP) to 30-360 (+30% AP)
- Her Q Hymn of Valor's bonus magic damage was lowered from 10/15/20/25/30 (+20% AP) to 10/15/20/25/30 (+10% AP)
- Her W. Aria of Perseverance's healing increased from 30/45/60/75/90 (+15% AP) to 30/45/60/75/90 (+30% AP)
- Her E, Song of Celerity, now offers more bonus ally movement speed, going from 10/11/12/13/14% to 10/12/14/16/18%
Sona received a mini-rework, as everything but her ult was changed. Sona will now be more of a healer than an AOE damage dealer.
In terms of items:
BloodSong
- BloodSong's Spell blade now been lowered from 150E
Imperial Mandate
- Imperial Mandate'S Target Health bonus Magic Damage: 12% ⇒ 10
Zaz'Zak's Realmspike
- its damage: 20 (+20% AP) (+4% Target HP Scaling) ⇒ 10 (+20% AP) (+3% Target HP Scaling)
- Its cooldown came from Damage: 20 (+20% AP) (+4% Target HP Scaling) ⇒ 10 (+20% AP) (+3% Target HP Scaling)
One thing to note here is that most of the changes were made to bottom-lane champions. Even though the last patch addressed some of the most critical issues, from AD champions abusing lethality to supports abusing early game advantages to snowballing the rest of the game, there are lots of problems that are yet to be resolved.
So although the changes to the supports Karma, Nami, and Sona may seem insignificant on paper, they were much needed, and in reality, they have a far larger impact on the game. So let's hope that this data mining information turns out to be true and is implemented on the live servers.
