Recently, some players have encountered a frustrating issue where their crosshairs disappear unexpectedly. This, however, started happening more frequently after the latest Valorant Patch 8.08.
If you're experiencing this problem, it may stem from a variety of causes, such as bugs introduced in the patch, corrupt game files, or a conflict with custom settings. This issue is causing disruption for many Valorant players, affecting their ability to compete and enjoy the game.
What causes the issue with crosshairs in Valorant?
Each time you start the game, your heroic crosshairs are being erased by an unusual glitch. This problem has become more prevalent after Patch 8.08, which included major changes to Viper and Cypher. Many players have reported the bug on Valorant's subreddit, noting that restarting the game does not fix the issue.
Riot Games has acknowledged the problem and announced that they plan to prevent crosshair profiles from disappearing with a fix in Patch 8.09. However, it's important to note that this fix won't recover any crosshair profiles you had built up before the glitch occurred.
Solving the crosshair issue in Valorant
There's no way to fix this glitch until Valorant Patch 8.09 is released, likely around the second week of May. In the meantime, we recommend backing up your favourite crosshair profiles so you can restore them when the patch arrives. To back up your crosshair, follow these steps:
- Open Valorant and navigate to the settings menu.
- Go to the crosshair section. Find the "Crosshair Profile" option.
- Click the "Export" button located next to "Crosshair Profile."
- The crosshair code will be copied to your clipboard.
- Paste the code into a notepad and save it on your desktop for later.
Unfortunately If you've been impacted by this bug, your custom crosshair settings won't be restored even after Patch 8.09 is implemented. This means that affected players will need to recreate their crosshair profiles from scratch.
