Sumo Digital have made the Texas Chainsaw Massacre available for purchase and play on all consoles and PC and this had the players swarming to try out Dead by Daylight's first competitor since release.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre does currently feature crossplay on some consoles, and the developers have reassured the community that crossplay is in the works for every console and will be implemented soon with the following statement:
" The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will have crossplay features, but being on 8th and 9th-generation consoles means there is far more to discuss than a simple announcement would do. We wanted to break down all the necessary information on partying up, platform compatibility, and cross-progression. "
They went on to say that PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S (ninth generation) are able to matchmake with each other but Xbox One will only be able to matchmake with other Xbox One players (eighth generation Xbox). Additionally, PlayStation 4 players will only be able to matchmake with other PlayStation 4 players (eighth generation PlayStation).
They also mentioned the settings that can enable or disable crossplay and that it can be turned off at any time within the menu. And based on what that setting is set to, other players will be visible or invisible.
If a player chooses to have crossplay off, all players who are on other platforms will instantly become invisible and if players from different platforms choose to party up together, crossplay on both ends will be turned on for the duration of the lobby.
