Sumo Digital has introduced an interesting concept into the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and it revolves around collecting and using blood either from the environment or from unfortunate victims.
Blood is the fuel to Grandpa's power and if he does not get enough of it, he will not level up and the killers will be at an overall disadvantage for the duration of the game.
Harvesting blood can be done in two ways, automatically and manually. Automatic blood harvesting is done whenever a victim is successfully attacked by one of the killers, or if a killer manages to completely murder the victim.
The other way of harvesting blood is by tracking down "blood buckets" which get refilled over time. These blood buckets are an ideal way of waking Grandpa up right at the start since the killers do not need to get into a chase or do anything to get blood for them.
Based on how high the killer's blood harvesting level is, a killer can get almost enough blood from a bucket to get Grandpa to level up.
It is important to mention that there is a limited amount of blood that can be carried and the blood vials cannot be filled past their peak. Also, the blood vials do not empty themselves so locating Grandpa and feeding him the blood is mandatory.
Not doing so will result in wasted blood and an under-levelled grandpa which will make the game unnecessarily difficult for the killers. If every player pays attention to their blood "economy", every game can easily turn in the favour of the killers and relatively fast too.
If the killers struggle to find the blood buckets, using the Focus Ability will reveal the location of all nearby buckets that can be drained.
