Silent Hill 2, the latest remake of one of the best psychological horrors made by Konami, is a game that, apart from wonderful storytelling, features very intricate puzzles that will make your brain work overtime on occasion to solve them.
One such puzzle awaits you inside the Wood Side Apartments section of the game, where, in order to progress through the game, you'll have to find three different coins and solve five different puzzles inside the Coin Cabinet.
In this guide, we will cover the first part of this puzzle, which is finding the three coins. If finding those coins poses problems for you, we've prepared a guide to assist you in that task.
How to find all three coins needed for the Coin Cabinet puzzle
Since Wood Side Apartments is a quite large area, you'll need to explore a lot to open all the passages and access all three floors of it. First, we must cover the locations of the coins throughout the level.
The first coin called Man is located inside room 206. To get here, you must reach the second floor and follow a very linear path until you reach a wardrobe inside room 208. With the Golden Apple Handle item you obtained earlier on the first floor in room 108, interact with the wardrobe handle to open it. Peak through if you want, but what you must do here is to move the wardrobe aside and access the room behind it.
When inside, solve the puzzle to gain the code for the safe inside the room. If you don't know how to do it, consult our guide. Once the safe is open, you'll acquire the Man coin. Now it is time to go for the next one.
Return to the lobby and from the save point near the Coin Cabinet, take a passage on the right and enter the backyard. Use the moving crate to make your way into room 112 through the window. Follow the path to the left towards room 116. Once you're inside, you'll meet an interesting character. After dealing with a couple of enemies, jump through the window and enter a large pool area.
There you'll have to fight five enemies so be ready. After dealing with them, check out the cart inside the pool; the snake coin is inside it.
The third coin is inside the chute that is actually stuck at the bottom. To be able to unstuck the chute, you must reach the third floor over the staircase located near room 115. By exploring the second floor, you'll eventually get the key that unlocks a lock pad blocking access to the third floor.
Once you reach the third floor, follow the linear path through the cracks and balconies until you reach room 312. Once inside, look for the passage you can crawl through on the left side of the room. On the table in this room, you'll find the pack of Bloody Apple juice.
Take it and throw it inside the chute located on the other side of the room. Once you do that, the chute will be unstuck, and you'll see the coin drop inside the courtyard. Get down and pick it up. Now, with all three coins in your possession, make your way to the Coin Cabinet.
