Unlocking a keypad-locked door that leads inside the Grand Market in Silent Hill 2, the latest horror adventure from Konami, is an optional task, and if you decide to tackle it, you'll be rewarded handsomely.
The Grand Market is located in the middle of the east side of the South Vale map, and while the front entrance to this building is sealed tight, the back entrance is locked with a keypad.
To enter this building, you must find the keypad code. If this task is giving you a headache, we've prepared a guide that will show you how to do it and ultimately we will show you the code if you do not want to bother with finding the clues.
How to find the code for the Grand Market keypad
To uncover the correct code, you must travel to the bottom of the map, exactly beneath the Sander's Street sign; if you can't find the place, see the picture below for the exact location.
There, you'll find a large truck, and right next to it, two documents describing someone's failed attempts to guess the correct code. On one document, it says that a certain someone tried the numbers from 0000 to 4013 and that it took almost two hours of trying.
However, if you flip the page, you'll see that he kept trying and that he felt he was actually very close to the solution. The number of attempts has now risen to 4439. If you follow his streak, you just have to guess three more times because the correct number is actually 4444. Enter this code and the door will unlock.
You won't find anything special or story-related inside the Grand Market because this building is completely optional. However, your trouble will be rewarded because, inside this building, you'll find a lot of ammo and healing items, so if you have a chance, explore this area.
