Coal is available in abundance in the wild of the base islands in Palworld 1.0. If you're looking for coal to craft items or simply place a coal mining site in your base, then head to these sites:
- Twilight Dunes
- Bamboo Groves
- Moonless Shore
- Verdant Brook
Coal is a slightly harder resource to mine than ore and stone. You'll need a higher quality pickaxe to mine coal from these spots. To make mining easier, keep a Pal with mining abilities in your party.
From experimentation, I have found Incineram, Knocklem, and Blazamut to be the best pals for mining Coal in Palworld 1.0. While capturing them might be a little difficult if you're just starting off, you can collect Dark or Fire eggs to incubate and bring out these Pals without facing any difficulties.
