Cyberpunk 2077 has had a somewhat rough start due to performance and stability issues but these few changes may improve your experience until CDPR comes out with more patches.

Night City dwellers' issues with Cyberpunk 2077 performance will persist until CDPR rolls out more optimisation patches but before that happens, there are the workarounds that the community comes up with. These are some pieces of advice that should help you get better frame rates on PC. The good news is that they will help regardless of your specs, the bad news is that these workarounds will not magically fix everything.

AMD and Nvidia GPU fixes

One particularly interesting workaround that applies to all GPUs was found by a Reddit user going by the name of Cohibaluxe. It seems to have had the most impact as his post was quickly upvoted to the top of the subreddit.

Namely, you just need to lower Cascaded Shadows Resolution in graphics settings. This change results in doubling or even tripling the FPS count. It is perhaps the biggest the most impressive that one of the effects was "solid 60FPS" with raytracing on, running on an RTX 3070. In other words, if you're rocking a 2080 Ti, you will also be able to have similar FPS.

Download Nvidia or AMD drivers manually. The correct versions are v460.79 for Nvidia and v20.12.1 for AMD. Choose "Clean Install" when prompted.

Cyberpunk 2077 community on Reddit came up with a bunch of graphics settings that should optimise framerate without losing too much visual fidelity. You can check them out through the linked thread or by going directly to the document with optimisation details .

Nvidia-specific GPU fixes

The second must-have on an Nvidia card is DLSS. Literally everyone who has tried it is saying positive things about this option, even though it will reduce visual fidelity ever so slightly.

We will update this article as more community workarounds pop up but it's really official patches that will make the biggest changes in the future. Until then, we hope at least some of these helped.
