Dune: Awakening is an open-world game with a pretty big map, so it is only logical to cover its ground using a vehicle. In this guide, we will show you how to obtain the first vehicle, the sandbike.

Traversing huge distances in Dune: Awakening would be almost impossible without some sort of transportation, especially when trying to cross the desert areas, because those sand wastelands are simply impossible to traverse without a vehicle due to the danger of being eaten by a huge monstrosity, the Sandworm.

If you're early in the game and see other players drive around using some sorts of bikes, or you simply see them parked in other people's bases, you may wonder how to get possession of one such toy.

How to get the sandbike in Dune: Awakening

The sandbike is the first vehicle in Dune: Awakening you'll get, or more precisely, you'll be able to craft and use it, and for that to happen, you'll need to wait for the tutorial to end. To put it simply, the sandbike will be the last time the game holds your hand, figuratively speaking.

Just before the game informs you that you need to cross the desert, it will show you how to build a bike. To do that, you'll be prompted to fabricate a welding torch and welding wire, then to investigate the basic bike parts, and finally begin assembling your very first sandbike.

Since this is still part of the tutorial, you'll be shown how to do everything step-by-step. However, if this is not the first time assembling a bike, and you forgot how to do it, it is actually quite simple.

Dune: Awakening - A vehicle fuel cell can be produced in a small chemical refinery

After investigating bike parts (they're shown under the vehicle tab inside the investigation menu), open the fabricator inside your base and build all bike parts. Once you have all of them, make sure to build a small or a medium vehicle fuel cell to properly fuel your sandbike. Vehicle fuel cells can be built inside a small chemical refinery using basic fuel cells.

After you have everything set up, pull out a welding torch, choose the assemble option, and start adding vehicle parts one by one. Once they are all in place, all that is left is to power the sandbike up. Approach it and hold the X button (Xbox controller) to choose additional options. Now simply use the command to add the power, and that's it; the sandbike is ready for riding.

Keep in mind, however, that the bike doesn't like the outside too much, and if it stays unprotected during a sandstorm, it'll probably be destroyed beyond repair. To prevent this from happening, build a garage for it inside your base to keep it protected.
