One of the mythical creatures you'll encounter in your adventure throughout the world of Dragon's Dogma 2, the latest action RPG from Capcom, is Medusa, the creature with the body of a snake and a woman combined.
This formidable foe, which you will encounter at the very beginning of the game, can be found later if you know where to look. A couple of the game's trophies/achievements are also related to this encounter, so if you are hunting for those, you will most certainly search for this very strong enemy.
If you do not know where Medusa is hiding and what rewards await you when you find and defeat her, we have a guide with all the answers related to this topic.
How to find and kill Medusa
The cave where Medusa is hiding is located inside the desert area, and it is supposed to be visited during the later stages of the game. However, since Dragon's Dogma doesn't limit your gameplay in any way, you can access this area early if you want. Just keep in mind that enemies are way stronger in this part of the world, so consider yourself warned.
To find Medusa, you must go to the Caliginous Depths cave, which is located southwest of Bakbattahl town. For the exact location, check out the map posted below. Once you reach the location shown on the map, search for the entrance with two fallen trees forming an "X" sign. Enter the cave, and the fight with Medusa will immediately start.
Regarding the tips for this boss fight, the easiest way to emerge victorious is to use a weapon that slices, like a sword or daggers, because your goal will be to behead Medusa, and that can only be done with the blades. To be exact, you do not need to have a blade as a weapon per se; it is enough that one of your teammates has one, and you are set.
During the fight, try to climb Medusa's body to avoid being turned into stone and to deal extra damage by hitting her upper body. If you are carrying a blade, one swing should be enough to decapitate her. Once you kill her, make sure to pick up the head; it can be used as a weapon to turn any enemy into stone. It is a very useful tool, for certain. Apart from her head, you will get some rare upgrade materials, as well as Medusa's bow.
If you are searching for a rare materials related to Medusa, keep in mind that her location resets every 15 minutes, which means after this time period passes, she will respawn inside this cave.
