Many Destiny 2 players encounter an issue during their first steps in the Tower but thankfully, the workaround isn't that hard.
Bungie messed up several steps in the beginner experience of Destiny 2 , most notably at the Cold Boot and Advent quests.
We already covered the fix for Cold Boot where the objective wouldn't move forward and now it's time for Advent.
Ironically, the problem is triggered by the same issue in objective progression but the fixes are slightly different.
The problem with Advent occurs because the exposition speech by Ghost and objective markers aren't synchronised properly. He will still be babbling about the Tower when you get the waypoint to talk with Amanda Holliday.
If you engage in conversation with Amanda while Ghost is still talking, your quest will get bugged and you will not be able to move through the security door.

The fix is to return to orbit and enter the quest again, which will reset the progress and you will spawn close to Amanda. This time around, wait for Ghost to finish his monologue and talk to Amanda afterwards.
Going about it this way will fix the progression and Ghost will properly start talking about the security measures once you reach the blue door. After a moment, the door will disengage and you can go through to speak with Zavala and the rest of the NPCs.
At this point, it doesn't matter if you don't wait for Ghost's speeches to finish. Just talk to all the NPCs at your own pace and the quest will eventually wrap up with a new sidearm in your inventory.
