Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, Don't Nod's latest action RPG, consistently introduces players to novel elements and items scattered throughout the levels, often sparking curiosity about the significance of each discovery.
Upon reaching the Mire Marshes region in the game, you'll initially come across peculiar wooden figurines, typically emitting a purple glow, with three of each type to be found.
Should you be curious about the nature of these figurines, their purpose, and the details on how and where to locate them, we've created a guide that addresses all of these inquiries.
What are the wooden figurines and what do they represent?
Although you encounter these figurines earlier in the game, you will only be able to use them once you reach Siridean's Island in the main story, where you will learn how to unlock cursed chests.
The Seeker will teach you the spell to unlock Fear-God Waterbury's chests, and to do that, you will need three wooden figurines directly connected to the specific chest. The chests are scattered throughout the game and cannot be missed, since they are all hidden behind the question marks once you discover the part of the map where the cursed chest is located.
Once you find the cursed chest, figurines are always in close proximity, with the exception of one chest where the figurines are hidden behind the buried treasures. For reference, we've posted a video above to show you an example of one cursed chest and all the figurines you must find. All figurines are usually located behind destructible walls or other blockers, and since they glow purple, it is very hard to miss them.
Once you collect all three, perform the cleansing ritual in front of the chest to unlock it. Sometimes you will only have to pick up the treasure, while in some cases, you will also have to fight mini-bosses and tough enemies to collect it.
