In Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, the most recent action RPG from Don't Nod, numerous secrets lie waiting to be uncovered through a bit of exploration in the surrounding world.
Similar to many games in this genre, numerous secrets are concealed behind locked doors, and it's your task to unravel the methods for unlocking these doors and claiming the valuable loot hidden behind them.
A house with a barricaded door is located near a lake in the eastern section of The Dark Woods, encountered for the first time during the Beast mission. If you're keen on learning how to unlock this house and gather the concealed loot within, we've prepared a guide for you.
How to enter the lakeside house in the eastern part of The Dark Woods
In the course of The Beast mission, once you exit the mines, your objective shifts to tracking down a colossal beast that you must eliminate. At a certain juncture, you'll have the option to veer left beneath a log and arrive at a house by the lakeside, locked from within.
To gain entry to the house, backtrack and resume the main quest. Eventually, you'll arrive at a mini arena where the true identity of the Beast is revealed, and you'll engage in combat with multiple enemies. Upon leaving this arena and reaching the opposite side of the lake, backtrack slightly. On your left, facing the lake, you'll find a path allowing you to ascend the broken rock.
Proceed through that passage, ascending to a vantage point above a house with a damaged roof. Use the musket to shatter the bar, securing the door from within. Create a shortcut with the rope to the right and descend into the house's courtyard. Eliminate the few enemies that appear, then enter the house to retrieve loot from the upstairs chest and read the letter located beside the door.
