Heading down the road of Balduran's secrets is a bit tricky due to the four trials as the clues are not really apparent at first.
This is especially true with the Trial of Insight, where you need to kill the projection of the person who was the bad guy at some point in Baldur's Gate's history but you don't get the information that would help you pick between the three.
There is some info but it is quite literally flying all over the place, via three flying books.
In order to be able to read the lore entries from those books, you will need to Hold them and then read through each of them to figure out the bad guy.
On the other hand, you can just go ahead and shoot Suelto, the projection that will be on your left if you are facing the trio directly, or the furthest one from the entrance to the room.
The best part is that you are not actually required to read the books so just go ahead and save your precious spell slots. After all, you are heading towards a battle where you will definitely need them, especially if you haven't completed the Chamber of Courage yet.
Once the four trials are complete, you will need to proceed further and bear in mind that you can actually rest directly from these chambers.
