Alan Wake 2 is a truly mind-bending investigative thriller/horror title that will make you question everything and everyone all the time. Sometimes, it will happen that you will question your own skill since progression will be seemingly locked away as there will be no true path to move forward with the story.
One of these moments is early in the game when you visit the Morgue to check the body of Nightingale. After the encounter with the dark presence, you'll need to head back to the Cauldron Lake but all the doors will be locked, preventing you from leaving the morgue.

How to leave the Morgue in Alan Wake 2?
To leave the Morgue and go back to Cauldron Lake with Casey, you'll need to enter Saga's Mind room and look at the evidence you've gathered from the case so far. It's fairly simple as you've already done that several times at that point.
Once you carefully check the clues and everything else that is available in the Mind Place, a new dialogue will pop up above Casey's head, allowing you to leave for Cauldron Lake.
