Activision and Infinity Ward have revealed a brand new multiplayer mode that will be introduced in the upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Named Gunfight, it's a four-player, two-versus-two mode set on a series of custom made maps.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare game modes are yet to be detailed by the developer Infinity Ward but that is set to change in the upcoming weeks with the scheduled full reveal of a brand new multiplayer mode named Gunfight.
In today's announcement, Activision and Infinity Ward teased the new mode and shared a couple of initial details, enough to give players a clue on what exactly they can expect from the new feature.
According to the announcement, Gunfight is one of several multiplayer modes in the upcoming Modern Warfare reboot and represents just a small taste of the overall Multiplayer experience.
It's a four-player mode in which two teams battle each other on "a series of custom-made, confined maps - the smallest of those present in Multiplayer". In Gunfight, everyone gets the same loadout that changes every two rounds.
The first duo to win six rounds wins the match. Each round lasts 40 seconds and if it happens that no one has an advantage after the timer runs out, Overtime begins in which a special flag spawns. The team that captures the flag or eliminates the other team, wins the match.
We also got first screenshots of three maps named King, Pine and Stack. King is set in a warehouse, Pine in a dense forest while Stack is a desert container yard.
Some Call of Duty streamers have been given access to this mode and you can take a closer look at the gameplay here. Activision and Infinity Ward will also reveal an in-depth look at the gameplay on 01 August 2019.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare is hitting the shelves on 25 October 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
