According to CD Projekt Red's Alvin Liu, Cyberpunk 2077 optimisation for consoles won't be a challenge for the studio and the game will look quite amazing on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, the PC platform will look better.

It's safe to say that CD Projekt Red's upcoming RPG Cyberpunk 2077 looked great in the gameplay demo that was released to public last year. Those who saw the new demo at E3 2019, confirmed that the game still looks breathtaking and with such graphics, many are wondering how exactly CD Projekt Red will optimise their creation for current-gen consoles, that are at the very end of their life cycle.

Well, according to CD Projekt Red's Alvin Liu, the optimisation won't be a challenge for the studio and Cyberpunk 2077 will look amazing on both Sony's and Microsoft's hardware. Speaking to Wccftech, Liu said that CD Projekt Red are targeting the consoles as first class platforms and with the help of their custom engine - the Red Engine - the devs won't have problems to make a well-optimised game.

"We’re targeting consoles as first class platforms and it looks amazing there," Liu said and added that those who own high-end PCs will obviously enjoy the best looking version of Cyberpunk 2077. "If you spent, you know, $2,000 building your PC rig, it’s going to look better on that. But the graphics are quite amazing for what you’re going to get from Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles and low-end PCs".

Nothing new for the modern day AAA games and totally expected we would say. The majority of new games usually look better on PC, and Cyberpunk 2077 will be no different.

However, with CD Projekt Red's history of console optimisations, it's understandable why some players are concerned that Cyberpunk 2077 could run poorly on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The studio's last major title - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - had a very poor launch on consoles, with frame rate dipping below 30 in notorious swamps in Velen and dense cities such as Novigrad.

With such a packed environment in Night City, there are worries that the same issues could happen again but hopefully, CD Projekt Red will manage to pull it off this time.

Thanks, Wccftech.
