NetherRealm Studios have officially revealed Cetrion, one of the new characters in Mortal Kombat 11. Her kit seems to be that of a zoner, with elemental powers, has a complicated family tree and happens to be one of the Elder Gods.

According to NetherRealm Studios' description, Cetrion is "eternally sworn to fight the darkness" which made her natural enemies with Shinnok, who is also her brother. Or he was? It's hard to tell if a gesturing head can be counted as being alive.

Anyway, their mommy dearest is apparently Kronika, which could explain the sad tone of her voice when she said "this was not your destiny Shinnok". Considering that Kronika believes the balance has been disrupted by the increased power of the forces of good, and therefore wants to help the forces of darkness out by rewriting the timeline, it is quite possible Cetrion will oppose her.

In a manner unusual to Mortal Kombat universe, she is not holding back on showing compassion to her opponents. For example, she appears to want to give Jade some love advice, but she is also not holding back when it comes to divine judgement as she was rather quick to condemn the green fighter to death.

Cetrion's moves usually manifest as she uses elements and natural powers. Her abilities tend to push the enemies back and control them from a distance, with branches extending straight into them or into the ground to perform grabs and zoning moves.

The grab showcases some of Cetrion's mastery over earthly elements, as a rock pops up so she can smash Jade on it, not in a fun way. She also tends to hurl rocks at enemies, with some of them performing crushing blows.

Cetrion's Fatal Blow sees more rock hurling as she impales an enemy against a tree. The fatality sees more rock magic that imprisons an enemy while Cetrion performs a stomp, grows to bigger than a planet, stomps the enemy and then blasts them into pieces with what looked like a sun ray.
