4A Games shared a new trailer for the upcoming Metro Exodus. The trailer reveals some story elements and puts emphasis on Artyom's wife Anna while showing combat gameplay from the familiar setting and some previously unseen locations.

With the last entry in Metro trilogy just around the corner, 4A Games have released a new trailer which sheds some light on the story and reveals new locations.

The trailer is narrated by Spartan Order sniper and Artyom's wife - Anna. This suggests that unlike in previous games, Anna could have a much larger role in the upcoming title.

One of the most interesting things in the trailer is the desert location which is a totally new setting for a Metro game, given that the story in Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light took place in Russia's frozen wastelands. The buildings seen in the desert region remind of those from the Mad Max movies, while roads are littered with destroyed cars and junk.

For those who prefer greener scenery, the trailer shows another region with dense forests, while those in love with Metro's frozen Moscow will also have a lot of snowy locations available.

Judging by the trailer, the story will follow the Aurora crew who are fleeing the Moscow ruins in search of life beyond metro and Russia. The developer confirmed that every region in the game will represent a different season which suggests that Artyom and his crew will be traveling from a cold Russian winter to sunny wastelands of a yet unknown country.

Additionally, the trailer introduces new characters which by the looks of it control these regions. It's unclear if these are friendy or if players will have to take them down in order to progress further.
