Ubisoft have posted that The Division Global Event Outbreak re-run will commence on Monday, 25 June 2018. The plague-within-a-virus zone simulator will end on Monday, 02 July 2018 along with the opportunity to get that sweet CBRN mask.
Global Event Outbreak modifiers will not change from its previous incarnations so players will still have to go for headshots in order to get through those pesky rushers in order to farm up the Global Event Caches.
As a reminder, the basic Outbreak modifier simply increases headshot damage after an agent scores a headshot kill, on top of AoE damage triggered by the headshot. Severe Outbreak will make enemies contagious so they will drain agents' health when close and Critical Outbreak will let agents instantly kill enemies provided they score a headshot on them after a teammate did so as well.
The Classified sets for this round of Outbreak will be DeadEye, LoneStar and Final Measure. There is a nice little mix of everyone's flavours here. DeadEye works great for DPS as well as ruining people's lives in Dark Zone, LoneStar offers some sweet bonuses that counteract Underground's Directives and Final Measure is a great support set for those who don't have a complete Reclaimer the lunchbox deployer.
Players who have unlocked vanity items from leaderboards caches during the previous two runs of Outbreak will not earn any new rewards other than regular gear and weapons. Meanwhile, players who missed out on CBRN, Trench and Chemist masks will have an opportunity to earn them through commendations detailed on The Division's reddit.
As Global Event Outbreak ends, a new Shield will pop up as July will have kicked off by then. This Shield will require players to complete 10 phases, get to level 10 and kill 10 hunters in the Underground. It's pretty straightforward, and offers a great opportunity to kick that gear score up a few levels. More information on Outbreak and future plans for The Division can be found on the official forums.
