Frictional Games announce Amnesia: Rebirth

A new Amnesia game is coming later this year, the developer Frictional Games announced. Named Amnesia: Rebirth, it is a brand new story set in the world of the original game.

Frostpunk's Update 1.5.1 introduces a bunch of additions and fixes

Frostpunk's DLC - The Last Autumn has a new update. The update has brought some additions as well as fixes to the newly released expansion. Fishing Harbour has some new features. The "Not great, not terrible" and "A for effort" achievements have been fixed.

Fortnite's latest update brings some new islands and a Yacht

Fortnite Creative has a bunch of new stuff after the latest update. The Fortnite Team added some new hub islands, a new consumable and a fresh device that let you stack more than 5 cardboard boxes as well as a bunch of new galleries.

Subnautica: Below Zero's Lost Ship adds more POIs and too cute Trivalve

There's a lot going on with Subnautica these days, with the team doing a major overhaul of the Below Zero story, but that sure didn't stop them from rolling out another exciting update. Dubbed the Lost Ship Update, it's about much more than just a ship.

DayZ set to have a lovely free weekend on Steam

DayZ's free weekend will start one day before Valentine's Day and go on until Monday, 17 February 2020 at 6:00 p.m. GMT. The base game and its DLC will be offered up at a discount during the free weekend. DayZ won Steam's Better With Friends award.

New Resident Evil Resistance masterminds and maps revealed

Capcom have revealed two new maps, Casino and Abandoned Park, and two new masterminds for their 4v1 survival game Resident Evil Resistance. The new masterminds are Alex Wesker and Ozwell Spencer who will join two previously revealed characters.

Fallout 76 Wastelanders shares release date with Steam version

Bethesda announced that Fallout 76 Wastelanders will bring NPCs to the game on 7 April 2020 which will also be the same day it will release on Steam. There are some quirks between the platforms though, with some things being transferrable and others not.

DayZ focus shifts from content to fixes in 2020

Bohemia Interactive posted another article on their blog, outlining what their plans are for DayZ in 2020. It appears that the developers will focus more on polishing the existing stuff and less on bringing new content, although bits will still come.

The Survivalists, set in the same shared universe of the similarly titled Escapists series, sees Team17 transporting their co-operative adventure formula to a whole new location, with a unique spin that sees you constructing forts, exploring tombs, and recruiting monkeys.

Rust gets new and recurring content with Lunar New Year celebration

Facepunch Studios are celebrating the Lunar New Year by adding more stuff to spice up the survival adventures in Rust as well as returning some items from the time out vault in order to make the in-game festivities feel complete.

Tencent aiming to fully acquire Funcom

Conan Exiles developer and publisher, Funcom, found itself advising shareholders to sell their shares to the Chinese tech giant, Tencent. The latter already owns a 29 per cent stake in the company and could move to acquire it entirely.

The Walking Dead - the complete series coming to Switch and Steam

Telltale's The Walking Dead - the complete series is coming to Steam this week. The Switch version is available right now. Skybound Games' The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners VR game is set to launch on Steam on 23 January.

Bethesda apparently unaware of latest Fallout 76 hack's scale

Bethesda's Fallout 76 is best described as a series of train wrecks but it appears that even when one happens, Bethesda are not aware of its scale. In an update to the exploit where hackers would steal others' equipped items, the company certainly hinted as much.

Fallout 76 Wastelanders beta sign-ups are ending soon

Fallout 76 Wastelanders is finally going to add human NPCs to Bethesda's GaaS attempt but it has to go through some testing first. The beta sign-ups are ending in the late hours of 14 January 2020 so you might want to give it a shot.

JANUARY 14

Frostpunk - The Last Autumn prequel DLC is coming soon

Frostpunk's second story expansion is set to drop in late January 2020. The prequel will focus on the days before the winter started ravaging the game's landscapes. The available DLCs can be bought separately or as part of the Season Pass.

Subnautica: Below Zero dev gives PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch update

Unknown Worlds Entertainment are still hard at work on Subnautica: Below Zero and they posted an update on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch plans and development. While they're hoping to make it for PC 1.0 release, it's too early to tell.

DECEMBER 18

Resident Evil 3 Remake minimum system requirements announced

Resident Evil 3 Remake was officially unveiled at the PlayStation State of Play last week. The game will launch on 3 April 2020 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The Resident Evil 3 Steam page has shared the minimum requirements for the game.

Fallout 76 gets free weekend and true server privacy

Fallout 76's premium subscription service was met with a lot of scrutiny from subscribers and non-subscribers alike but Bethesda finally managed to plug the holes regarding private servers. At the same time, a promotional free weekend was announced, if someone wants to try it out.

Resident Evil 3 Remake will not be revealed at The Game Awards it's been officially confirmed by the show's host Geoff Keighley who called the latest leaks completely wrong.

Outlast developer Red Barrels have announced a brand new survival-horror game named The Outlast Trials. While it may seem that the new title will be VR, the devs confirmed it's actually a co-op experience.

Minecraft saving bees in new partnership with WWF

Minecraft is getting a bee-centric update next week in partnership with WWF. The update will be heralded in by three live streams hosted in the US, Brazil and Australia. A new community challenge will take place from 13 December until 15 December 2019.
