A new Amnesia game is coming later this year, the developer Frictional Games announced. Named Amnesia: Rebirth, it is a brand new story set in the world of the original game.
The masters of horror games, Frictional studio have been teasing their next project for several months now. Players have been craving for more Amnesia and Soma games for quite some time now and today, the developer decided to reveal the big news and announce a new Amnesia game.
Named Amnesia: Rebirth, the new title is a brand new story set in the world of the original game. However, instead of a nightmarish castle, Rebirth is set in Algeria. The reveal trailer, which you can watch below, does not show much, only small glimpses of gameplay, which pack a lot of dark corners, and creepy locations.
There is also a crashed plane, some ancient ruins so it is safe to say that we can expect a story filled with twists and turns from the get-go until the very end.
Speaking about the story, it will follow a new character Tasi Trianon as she sets out on "a harrowing journey through devastation and despair, personal terror and pain, while exploring the limits of human resilience".
Amnesia: Rebirth will be the third game in the Amnesia series. Previously Frictional Games developed Amnesia: The Dark Descent, a critically acclaimed horror and published a not so popular Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.
Amnesia: Rebirth is currently in development for PC and PlayStation 4. The release date is set for Autumn 2020.
