Rhode Island politician seeks violent video game tax

Member of the Rhode Island State House Rober Nardolillo III has proposed a bill whereby M-rated games would be slapped with a 10 per cent price tax, which would go into mental health services and counseling.

Final Fantasy XV to get a free demo next week, limited-time Half-Life pack available

Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition will be available via Origin, Steam and the Windows 10 store. The game's PC demo will go live on all those platforms on 26 February 2018. Each store will offer different pre-order bonuses.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance has moved 1 million copies across all platforms in less than two weeks. A Czech site first broke the news, which was later confirmed in a tweet by the game's US community manager.

Biomutant is an upcoming open world action RPG. The game's story is centered around a tree players need to save. The character creation tool will allow for various character mutations.

Kingdom Come getting respec potion, tweaks

After the smoke has cleared, launch-day jitters have worn off and integrity has seeped back in through pocket holes, it's time to patch Kingdom Come: Deliverance's shortcomings out of existence. Warhorse Studios say they're looking at 'Save and Exit' mechanics, adding respec potion, mini game tweaks, bug fixes, etc.

Thanks to a heavy discount on the Nintendo Switch version, FIFA 18 is back at the top of the UK sales chart. Kingdom Come: Deliverance has debuted at number two. Last week's number one, Shadow of the Colossus, has fallen to number seven.

Dark Souls: Remastered getting a Switch port

Dark Souls: Remastered Switch port will be handled by a China-based studio Virtuos. The studio has previously worked on porting the Switch version of L.A. Noire. QLOC - a Polish studio will take care of Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC versions.

Monster Hunter: World for the Switch

Capcom's latest hit, Monster Hunter: World is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a PC version coming later this year. Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto said that they are aware of the request to bring the game over to the Switch but the odds of that happening are slim to none.

It seems like Monster Hunter: World has finally found the series' ideal mixture of game complexity and general appeal. Reviews and reactions of Western markets are mostly favourable, although they have been positive before yet still somehow failed to translate to proper sales.

Horizon Zero Dawn wins a WGA award

Horizon Zero Dawn took home the Writers Guild of America award for its writing. John Gonzalez, Horizon Zero Dawn's narrative director accepted the award on behalf of Guerilla Games along with lead writer Benjamin McCaw. Monster Hunter World's next Horizon-themed Event Quest will go live at the end of February.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance's day one patch

Warhorse Studios' action RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance will have a day-one patch. The patch is meant to improve the game's overarching mechanics. Even though the update is more than 20 GB in size, it will not inflate the game's size on your hard drive, but rather replace the previously downloaded build files.

Kingdom Hearts 3 adds Monsters Inc.

Square Enix' Kingdom Hearts 3 will visit the world of Monsters Inc. and Tangled. Sora, Goofy and Donald end up transformed into monsters. Series creator Tetsuya Nomura teased that the final part of the game includes something he's "always wanted to do in Kingdom Hearts".

Capcom seem to have struck gold with Monster Hunter World, which is now officially the company's fastest selling title with 6 million copies shipped. The game managed to hit 5 million only three days after it launched on 26 January 2018, and with the PC launch later this year, Capcom are living the dream.

Sunless Skies delayed due to poor performance

Failbetter Games's latest project, Sunless Skies, has been delayed. The new release date will be known sometime this month. The studio has had to lay off four members due to Sunless Skies' poor performance on Steam's Early Access.
