Fury Warriors have fallen out of favour with the global cooldown changes as they impair the ability to keep stacking several different buffs at the same time. Blizzard are now hoping to change that with World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth
According to Blizzard, Enrage will remain the core mechanic for Fury in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. It is going to be altered though, now granting 25 per cent haste and 10 per cent movement speed. Enrage will also lose the 20 per cent damage taken penalty so Fury warriors will not risk being randomly burst once their damage condition has been reached.
On the flip side, Fury specialisation will no longer give 15 per cent health bonus, with Blizzard estimating that Fury warriors will have about 8 per cent health more than other DPS classes of same gear score. Enrage also made Fury warriors heavily gear dependent in the past and Blizzard are aiming to rectify this.
They will be looking for a way to keep Enrage uptime at around 60 per cent, instead of having almost no uptime with low end gear and snowballing wildly with high end crit and haste gear. Rage generation will also be increased in order to increase the number of Rampage opportunities between Enrage durations.Raging Blow will function more like the Inner Rage talent, since it will no longer require the warrior to be Enraged, it will have two charges and a 7.5s cooldown that will be reduced by haste. There will also be 20 per cent chance per usage to reset its own cooldown.
Furious Slash will also see some changes, as it will now generate three Rage and have 10 per cent chance to Enrage the warrior. Blizzard have stated that they wanted to give players more incentive and satisfaction for using the ability but it may see the end of its days soon. They are going to attempt to remove it as a baseline ability by having Whirlwind take its place, while merging Furious Slash with the talent Frenzy.
Now, some people may not like the changes coming to Execute, as it will no longer be the prime Rage spender during the window it's available, as it will have a six second cooldown and will now generate 20 Rage instead of spending any. This is even in the final stages of a boss fight.
Recklessness will also be changed so it caters more to Rampage. It will no longer give 100 per cent critical chance in Fury specialisation, but it will double adrenaline generation from all sources for a short period.
