There was talk about weird things happening on Draenor last week and now the insanity seems to have spilled into Azeroth, all thanks to the build-up to Battle for Azeroth. This does make me wonder how crazy the final conflict will be.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth has pretty much every veteran and novice WoW player hyped up for the imminent clash of might and magic across Azeroth. A war of this magnitude requires more allies, and thus the allied races were introduced, Mag'Har Orcs being one of them.

The last we saw of them was at the end of Warlords of Draenor expansion where they agreed to work together in peace with the Draenai. Happy endings, right? Well, no. More like super weird endings.

When players go to recruit the Mag'har for the upcoming fight against the Alliance, they arrive on Draenor 35 years after the events of Warlords of Draenor. Orcs are more or less the same and Grommash Hellscream seems to have kept his word not to annihilate the Draenei. This is where things get weird. It's actually the Draenei under Yrel's leadership that are being the aggressors.

Yrel became the High Exarch and is now calling her followers the "lightbound", as she leads them in a fanatical borderline war to convert everyone on the planet to her faith. This resulted in Garrosh Hellscream becoming a convert and when no more orcs would willingly convert to the Light, the Draenei started with forced conversion.

This hints at the Light becoming the enemy in a future plot, since such an event was already shown when Xe'ra tried to force Light upon Illidan. Extended explanation of Draenor plot and Yrel's crazy crusade can be seen in this .

Meanwhile on Azeroth, King Brad Pitt has decided to take Lordaeron for the Alliance, as it was one of his late father Varian's wishes. The following two paragraphs will hold major spoilers for Battle for Azeroth content, so you may wish to skip them. If not, continue reading.

This results in Alliance gaining the upper hand, with Sylvanas deciding to use the Blight since she's now cornered. Varok Saurfang strongly disagrees with this decision but she goes through with it regardless. This, of course, resulted in Sylvanas wiping out her own troops, along with Alliance soldiers.

She then raises them as mindless undead skeletons to fight the remaining Alliance forces. Lich King much? The scenario continues as the Alliance pushes into Lordaeron's courtyard where Saurfang protests further against Sylvanas' tactics. She insults him and then leaves him there for Alliance to kill him.

It seems more evident now that Yrel and Sylvanas may serve as the antagonists in Battle for Azeroth, with the Light possibly being the grand finale or a setup for another expansion. Either way, it's fun to watch their lunatic race from the safety of a gaming room.
