Steam has many search filters, but one of the more obscure is filtering games by top wishlists. After a quick glance, you can easily see that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Resident Evil 2 are the most wished for upcoming games on Steam.
FromSoftware's games were always beloved by players in general, mostly due to interesting combat mechanics and the challenge they pose. Therefore, it is no wonder that Steam users tend to put their upcoming title, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on their wishlists. In fact, they liked it so much that the game became the most wished for title on Steam.
This search filter on Steam was lying in wait, but it didn't come into the spotlight until recently, when Simon Carless it in one of his tweets. From the info, it is evident that many Steam users are either nostalgic for the good old days when Resident Evil was the bee's knees of horror games or simply like the new gameplay shown through trailers, as Resident Evil 2 is the #2 most wished for title on the list.
These two games are followed by Metro Exodus and Devil May Cry 5, with Total War: Three Kingdoms rounding up the top five. Biomutant is apparently the sixth most wished for upcoming title on Steam, as the filter only shows games that have not been released yet.
The Outer Worlds, Atlas, Left Alive and Tom Clancy's The Division 2 make up the rest of the top 10 list, in that order. It is quite interesting that The Division 2 didn't take up a higher spot, but this can probably be attributed to fans being wary of Ubisoft's policies of releasing unfinished games that become worth having only years down the line.
The Division 2 has been sitting on Steam for a while now and could be wishlisted for months, and yet it was left in dust by The Outer Worlds that was announced mere weeks ago. Granted, they are different types of games, but it still doesn't look good for Ubisoft's next big title. You can see the here.
