Xbox Cloud Gaming just got better thanks to the Clarity Boost feature, which, as the name suggests, improves image quality pretty significantly.
Microsoft Edge will soon become the best internet browser for those who play their games via the Xbox Cloud Gaming service. Microsoft have announced that they are improving the cloud gaming experience by providing a better, sharper image quality exclusively on their Edge browser.
"Xbox Cloud Gaming has partnered with Microsoft Edge to create an improved experience with optimizations now available exclusively in the Microsoft Edge browser, providing the optimal look and feel while playing Xbox games from the cloud," it's written in the announcement.
The Clarity Boost, which is the official name of the new feature, uses a set of scaling improvements on the client-side to push the visual clarity of the video stream, say Microsoft. You can check out the difference between the default image quality and the one using Clarity Boost in the image above. It's safe to say that the image on the right looks much sharper with more detail than the one on the left.
How to enable the Clarity Boost on Xbox Cloud Gaming:
- Download Microsoft Edge Clarity
- Login to Xbox and start a game
- Open the more actions (...) menu
- Enable Clarity Boost
Xbox Cloud Gaming is still in the beta phase with no release date, though, it is worth mentioning that it works pretty well in most cases.
Hopefully, we'll hear more about Cloud Gaming and Microsoft's plans to expand the service to more countries, very soon.
