Earlier today, Rockstar for the first time confirmed that they are working on a new GTA installment, and that got players wondering about the possibility of a trailer launch at E3 in summer?

E3 is probably the biggest trade event for the gaming industry as it draws more than 50,000 industry people and 15,000 in-person fans to the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The omicron variant of the COVID-19 for sure did alter the plans of the ESA as they announced the event will take place online second year in a row.

However, if GTA 6 trailer would be announced at the event, it would be probably the biggest E3 event as of yet.

Last year, there was somewhat an ignored leak saying the GTA would be announced early in 2022, and that has been proven correct today when Rockstar officially announced that they are working on the GTA VI through the yearly community update.

The leak in question also mentioned that the GTA VI trailer would launch at E3 2022, and that seems plausible after today's announcement.

Only one hour after the statement, the news about GTA VI has spread across the entire gaming community, and Rockstar has not even announced a single detail or a date for the game, only the confirmation (first official, however) that they are in development.

And releasing this statement four months before the E3 could be a tactical strategy to gain traction among the community about the possibility of a GTA VI trailer launch.

Regardless of what is going to happen, the hype will be there, and on the one hand, it would be a missed chance for Rockstar not to use the hype train to release the trailer.

On the other hand, GTA VI has been expected for so long, if Rockstar were to announce a trailer at midnight on a Tuesday, it would still rack up millions of views by morning, as the last GTA installment came out 9 years ago, and still attracts over 130k+ gamers daily according to Steam Charts.

If we were to guess, the trailer will not launch before the release of GTA 5 for the next-generation consoles which is scheduled to happen in March, as that would take the spotlight away from the GTA 5 remaster.

Will it be released on E3 is an open question, but for sure,  there will be a mass expectation to.
